2012 Warren Moon Celebrity Dream Bowl

Sports heroes and celebrities returned to Las Vegas this past June for the 12th annual Warren Moon Celebrity Dream Bowl. The bowling event is a benefit for the Sports Dream Foundation's Urban Youth Scholarship Fund. The Fund benefits outstanding young people throughout the country who have the dream and commitment to attend post-secondary education but who lack the financial means. The fund is supported by private donations, corporate sponsorships and event proceeds.

This year's event was attended by such luminaries from the world of sports as Julius Irving, Eddie George, Andre Reed, Cam Newton, Dwight Freeney, Shawn Merriman, and many others. Then of course, there is Warren Moon himself, whose long list of impressive achievments have earned him a place in both the Canadian and American football halls of fame. Moon is a bonafide hero to football fans everywhere. And with his long-standing committment to the Sports Dream Foundation he is also a hero to hundreds of disadvantaged youths. Spyder is very proud to have spnsored this event in support of such a worthy cause.

For all the fun and excitment that can happen when so many stars get together, these rising young stars are the real reason Warren Moon devotes so much time and effort to this cause.

Merriman's (a.k.a. "Lights Out") impressive achievements include several Defensive Rookie of Year awards for 2005, 2006 NFL Sack Leader, and three-time All-Pro and Pro-Bowl player.

Eddie Geroge won the Heisman Trophy in 1995 and was Offensive Rookie of the Year for 1996. This Hall of Famer was a four-time Pro Bowler and a "member" of the 10,000 Rusing Yards Club.

The legendary Julius Erving ("Dr. J") helped launch a modern style of basketball play that emphasizes leaping and play above the rim. Erving won three championships, four MVP awards, and three scoring titles during his prolific career. Erving was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993.

After playing in the Pro Bowl an amazing seven times, four-time AFC Division Champion Andre Reed shows he can score big with a bowling ball as well as a football.

Cam Newton is only the third player to be awarded the Heisman Trophy, win a national championship, and be the first overall pick in the NFL draft all in the same year. Like his exploits on the field, here he shows us how it's done.

Super Bowl champion and Indianapolis Colts all-time sack leader, linebacker Dwight Freeney is poised to strike.
